Cheltenham Day 2
A fantastic day of racing, perhaps one of the finest in living memory and certainly an hour you will never forget, Constitution Hill the future and Honeysuckle the past, incredible.
We had a decent enough day, close but no cigar beaten by a whisker on Monbeg Genius and Love Envoi ran a fantastic race.
El Fabio was impervious to all around him.
The last race of the day was a weird one, we were on Mahler Mission who did an Annie Power/ Galopin Des Champs falling at the last when nowhere near him and yet we picked up the double as the favourite, Gaillard Du Mensil came roaring past.
13:30 – in the Ballymore, we will back Gaelic Warrior, Impaire Et Passé is the well fancied favourite but the price on GW is simply too big. A prominent ride tucked in behind Hermes Allen should ensure Patrick Mullins is well placed to pounce at the last, in the Rich Ricci colours.
Gaelic Warrior 1pt ew 13/2
14:10 – Gordon Elliot has a good thing with Gerri Colombe unbeaten on all starts and proven on the surface. The Real Whacker was a talking horse throughout the build up to the festival, it will be interesting to see how the pair perform over the longer distance.
Thyme Hill for Philip Hobbs however looks a big price at 10/1 a horse that season after season turns up and puts in a performance, proven on the surface and over distance. A small play.

14:50 – The Coral Cup is a race where it makes sense to have a few selections in your pocket:
Sa Fureur for Gordon Elliot at 16/1 will be our first selection, successful in its last 3 starts on, good, soft and heavy this versatile type has the speed and is down in weight. A very interesting player.
Benson looked fantastic last time out, showing the pace to trouble these if he gets rolling out in front as he did at Kelso.
Finally, we will back Red Risk who is far too big a price for Paul Nicholls.

Benson 14/1 1pt ew
Red Risk 40/1 0.5PT ew
15:30 – Is Edwardstone the British banker? The price is certainly short enough, can you forgive Energumene for last time out? Or do you just back Editeur Du Gite on the basis he beat them both last time out at the course, over distance.
A horse that enjoys the softer ground, going well at Kempton on the surface, 11/2 seems far too big, all we heard was how Alan King was happy in defeat, that doesn’t seem right. If the Gary Moore trained horse can get out and have a clear run of the fences, he may just run the race once again out of both of them,
Editeur Du Gite 11/2 2pt ew
16:10 – No bet, although if pushed, I do like Galvin for this.
16:50 Dinoblue for Mullins and the Great Man, JP, stands out, the race at Cork on soft, proved it can handle a juicer surface. Carrying only 10.13, it is well prepped to succeed today in what is always a fast and frantic affair.
Before Midnight is given a real chance by the handicapper, runs at Ascot and Doncaster this year have not dulled the horses pace and despite being 10-years young, at the prices, worth a play.
Dinoblue 6/1 2pt ew
Before Midnight 28/1 0.5PT ew
17:30 – The Willie Mullins, Champion Bumper should be fun, he has 10 entered for this – chances are he will be successful, Fact to File will be our last bet of the day on what is a race with, not much in the way of form.
Fact to File 4/1 2pt ew
