CHELTENHAM – THE INTERNATIONAL MEETING
FRIDAY 9 DECEMBER 2022

12:40 – TIMEFORATUNE in the now opener (with the cross country scratched) , up in class and a slight wise in the weights, the run at Exeter in mid November is the one we hope can be emulated today. Gentle Slopes a big danger and the right Fav but at the prices the Nicholls horse is the one for us.

4/1 2pt ew

13:15 – The Skelton yard may just be turning a corner, a couple of big race wins at the weekend and all of a sudden after a dismal start things are somewhat improving. HIDDEN HEROICS is the win only selection, well prepped at the same Exeter meeting as out first selection and the pick of the race.

2/1 3pt win

13:50 Top weight, FORTUNES MELODY is the selection for Harry Fry and Darryl Jacob aboard, back to it’s preferred trip of 2m 4an emulation of the Worcester effort in early October (in higher company) would be enough to trouble these.

9/1 1pt ew

14:25 – CAPTAIN CATTISTOCK for Fergal O’Brien who at 9 is no spring chicken but not an old boy all the same, up in class for this yard, that continues to fly and break-records (36% strike rate over last 14 days). Expect the horse to be held up mid-division and have too much pace for them all at the conclusion, the big dangers are Commodore and Switch Hitter.

5/1 2pt ew

15:00 – MULLENBEG, going for the 4 timer and yet carrying less weight when down in class, it is hard not to be drawn to the Fav in this contest. Speed has been somewhat of an issue but it’s best time (figures wise) was set at the course in a NHF.

10/3 2pt ew

15:35 – In the event the hurdles are still standing come this time, DUSART for Henderson is the selection, last seen when flying around Ascot over Fences in February, the headgear is on today after a wind surgery and Nicky has a great record when applied first time (23% SR). The switch back to Hurdles, where he was successful at Aintree last year looks a huge positive.

DUSART 11/4 3pt win
