15:00 – Echo Point for Appleby & Buick is our opening bet of Day 2, down in weight and very much the bridesmaid with 4 seconds on the trot, is today the chance to gain that elusive victory. Lightly raced and with promising speed figures, we know the horse will be fine on the going (good at present) and over distance.
We will stick with Godolphin for our second selection in the race and back Shining Blue for SBS with Dettori on board, the trainer has an eye over course and distance (22% strike rate) and when applying the hood, as is the case today boasts a 25% strike rate. At 10/1 it looks a big enough price and is one for us today.
Echo Point 7/1 1pt ew
Shining Blue 10/1 1pt ew
15:35 – The Irish raider, La Petite Coco is our seleciton, going for the 5 timer, the run earlier this season on soft at the Curragh still set an impressive speed and we know she can handle the surface. I had this horse around the 2/1 mark on my tissue hence at 10/3 we are getting value.
La Petite Coco 10/3 2pt ew
16:10 – Golden Lyra should win and win well, we will double with our selection in 15:35 although no advised single.
La Petite Coco & Golden Lyra 15/1 1.5pt ew
17:20 – Adaay in Asia, withdrawn on Sunday, this filly is a horse I have been keen to stick with since it’s success at Goodwood in July, going for the 4 timer today, down in weights and with a trainer who has a 33% strike rate from a small sample size the withdrawal on Sunday must have been significant as York is preferred. The slight step up in trip is a concern but the horse has shown and is bred to want further.
Stunning Beauty for Godolphin is our second and final section of day 2 again for SBS with Luca on board.
Adaay in Asia 9/1 1pt ew
Stunning Beauty 12/1 0.5pt ew
