A slight losing day yesterday, solid runs from Brilliant Light and Pogo in the places ensured not much damage caused, however, we gave a bit back to the bookies.
Whilst we did not have a selection, the Gold Cup did not fail to impress, a fantastic victory by the winner, proving his Royal Ascot success was no fluke. Will they all lock horns again at York?
13:50 – All eyes will be on the Godolphin horse, Secret State in the opener, however, Mandobi is our selection for the opening race of Goodwood day 2. William Haggis and Tom Marquand have a nigh on 30% strike rate when pairing up at the course and Haggis in particular does well at this distance here, running no sort of race behind Secret State at Royal Ascot, down in weight today, I had the horse half the price on my morning tissue.

14:25 – We do however turn to the boys in blue for our second selection, Soft Whisper, this filly has shown plenty of promise at Ascot on her reappearance in May and scoring again on the all-weather at Chelmsford in what must have been a keep-active race. She has beaten a number of these in the field today and if SBS has her good to go, she is well drawn and should get out and get going as her front running style from the middle of the pack should be hard to reel in.

15:35 – Baaeed should at around 15:40 remain unbeaten.
16:10 – State occasion is the top weight for Beckett and Ryan but deservedly so, she should have the beating of these with her second at Newbury being a particularly stand-out piece of form, drawn well and likely to be held up, she can get a good toe into the race from Natasha and then capitalise at the death.

16:45 – Star of Lady M up in class and down in weight, successful last time out at Musselburgh, with Danny Tudhope on board today, screams a selection (in particular as we have backed her this season before), drawn next to All The Time who is the likely pace angle into the race, whilst all eyes are on Platinum Queen the respective performances to date of the our selection and the favourite do not justify such a price disparity.
