Morning, a quieter week post Royal Ascot, the fall-out continues, Dettori and Gosden are taking a sabbatical, he is at HQ but not riding for his paymaster.
Anyway, enough of that, the Sardinian could not get Saga over the line for us at the Royal meeting, so excuse me being a tad sore still.
As to today, Northumberland Plate day, Trueshan, Gold Cup hero, re-routed to Newcastle, carrying bags of weight, will Alan King finally have found the ground and race for his Flat-superstar.
Newmarket
14:40 – Something Enticing is our selection, we were with Kemari last-time out at York but it was not the preferred trip, a much better race today for the favourite but the price is not one of much interest. As to our selection, Andrew Balding’s mount, is very well weighted and has mainly performed on good-soft, but with better ground today and at a big price, a real chance could be sprung.

15:15 – Godolphin, have been very good to us this season, Pogo looks the obvious selection in this race, however Art Du Val for Charlie Appleby and William Buick who are operating at over a 30% strike rate at the Course, expect a prominent ride from the front that should get plenty of these at it.

Newcastle
15:30 – Golden Flame at 40/1 will be our only selection in the Plate, for the Johnston duo, as ever, a front-runner who on my tissue should be around 12s, the price cannot be ignored with the each-way value. Trueshan has tasted defeat before in this race and whilst favourite, would not be a play for us, carrying a full stone heavier when last seen on track.
