Friday 1 April 2022

A quieter week, although Wednesday was fun, 12/1 winner, the second in the same race at 6/1 and everything else recommended placed. Nothing of interest yesterday, as we look ahead today and into the weekend and the Scottish National.

Plenty of profit since the blog returned for the Cheltenham Festival.

Onto today plenty of racing at Newbury and Ayr to review.

Ayr

13:45 – Starlyte is the each-way play in the opener, down in the weights and with Charlie Todd taking off 3lbs, up in trip but should at least be in the mix a few out.

Starlyte 10/1 1pt ew

14:20 – Irish Blaze sent over by Gordon Elliot is an interesting participant, however Thunder Rock for Olly Murphy, ran well last time out on the figures, despite his placing. At 7/4 he is not a single play, rather one for multiples.

14:55 – Since Day One looks laid out for this by McCain, Hughes is on board and the 9/2 looks massive for a horse that should be more like 3/1 on my figures. A big fancy.

Since Day One 9/2 3pt ew

Double with Thunder Rock 17/1 2pt ew

15:30 – We will stick with McCain and Hughes and back Presentandcounting, provided he is able to tuck in behind the leaders and not get too lit up, his 4 timer last year should not be forgotten, if he retains any of that, he should give our money a very god run.

Presentandcounting 13/2 2.5pt ew

Double with Since Day One 58/1 1pt ew

16:40 – A three timer on the day for McCain and Hughes? Let’s hope so, as Heartbreak Kid is our selection.

Heartbreak Kid 7/2 2pt win

Newbury

14:30 – Patroclus should take all the beating for Henderson.

Patroclus 9/4 2.5pt win

15:05 – Irish Hill – double with Patroclus 7.5/1 2.5pt ew

15:40 – Dargianni 2/1 2.5pt win

Double with Irish Hill 8/1 3pt ew

16:15 – A chance for Quick Draw to bounce back for Henderson yard, having lost his way a little of late.

Quick Draw 15/2 1pt ew
