Yesterday was fun, over at Musselburgh, with Inca Prince kicking the day off with a beautiful front running effort and winning at 5/1, Latino Fling won at 5/1 and we had the third place in the same race, each-way, Island Mahee, drifting all the way out to 18/1. Newton Abbot was equally fruitful with our only play on the day at the course, a 5/1 win double, landing.
25+ point profit day yesterday, kicking on from Cheltenham and looking ahead to Aintree and with the start of the Flat season, the summer should hopefully prove to be equally profitable (you will recall we called both Guineas and the Derby last year correctly at big prices).
Plenty of action today with Doncaster and the Lincoln and the Jumps over at Kelso and down south at Kempton.
Doncaster
As it is the start of the season and of course, we have not seen these horses run on this surface since last year (or ever at all if they are first-time out), we will take it easy until the season is underway properly, normally around the first Guineas meeting.
14:25 – General Lee 9/2 1pt ew
15:00 – Chindt wins if anything like where he was last season, no price for a single.
THE LINCOLN
15:35 – One of my favourite races of the year, heralding the start of the Flat and steeped in tradition, high draws are always seen as a plus and it has attracted classier types in more recent years, all the talk is on Mr Haggis becoming the winning-most trainer of the race and the rising Apprentices who are taking part. Good luck!
