Cheltenham Festival Day 2

WEDNESDAY 16 MARCH 2O22

A day of near misses, Dysart Dynamo, set the tone for the Irish early on, falling after being lit-up at the start, Britain was ready to capitalise with Constitution Hill winning a procession, Edwardstone then doubled up for the mainland and Alan King in a powerful performance, all of the early races however were setting the tone for only one horse, HONEYSUCKLE, no one can doubt her form now (including me), what a star.

A frustrating day punting wise, with plenty of places and some of the bigger multiples (those with Dysart Dynamo in) falling at the first race.

We will be fine however over the week and go again today.

Multiples

Sir Gerhard, Bravemansgame, Shishkin, Tiger Roll 35/1 1.5pt ew

Energumene, Sir Gerhard 6/1 2pt ew

Energumene, Sir Gerhard, Bravemansgame 27/1 1pt ew

Sir Gerhard, American Mike 5/1 2.5pt ew

WEDNESDAY 16 March 2022

Ballymore

Sir Gerhard, rerouted away from the Supreme, should hose-up, however he is no price for anything other than multiples. We will back two against:

I Am Maximus 16/1 0.75pt ew

Three Stripe Life 13/2 1.5pt ew

Brown Advisory

Bravemansgame will be our main selection alongside Farouk D’alene for Gordon Elliot who is well backed and well fancied, we will also back the Nicholls trained, Threeunderthrufive who goes well on softening ground (the rain is due to come today).

Bravemansgame 11/4 3pt win

Farouk DAlene 10/1 0.75pt ew

Threenuderthrufive 16/1 0.5pt ew

Coral Cup

The pin has landed on the following:

Camprond 7/1 2pt ew

Gerry Clermont 25/1 0.75pt ew

McFabulous 16/1 1pt ew

Queen Mother’s Champion Chase

Shishkin vs Energumene , what a battle this promises to be, at the prices and nigh on neck and neck at the ratings, we have to be with the Irish contender, despite Shiskin betting him at Ascot – (see multiples above).

Envoi Allen 16/1 0.5pt ew

Chacun Pour Soir 13/2 0.75pt ew

Cross Country

Tiger Roll is in multiples, can the king return and be retired to no doubt rapturous applause, we will back an outside.

Step Back 66/1 0.25pt ew

Grand Annual

Editer Du Gite 8/1 2pt ew

Ferou Banbou 12/1 1pt ew

Champion Bumper

American Mike for Elliot against the Mullins trained Facile Vega, the latter getting the upper hand yesterday in the final race, the NH Cup.

American Mike is the fancy for us at 9/4 he is no longer a single play but we will double with Sir Gerhard.
