Welcome, Festival Trials day at HQ, plenty of interesting action to review and get stuck into.

Cheltenham

12:15 – Handicap Hurdle

Two selections today, impossible to ignore the Favourite, Lively Citizen, the Jockey takes off 7lbs and previous successes at the course make him our first selection of the meeting. Further down the card, we will also back Hystery Bere at a bigger price.

Lively Citizen 4/1 3pt ew

Hystery Bere7/1 1pt ew

12:45 – Juvenile Hurdle

Gordon Elliot sends over the well backed and fancied, Pied Piper, however on what we have seen to date, the Nicholls trained Iceo is our main selection, Moulins Clermont for Gary and Jamie Moore is worth a play at a larger price.

Iceo 2/1 3pt win

Moulins Clermont 20/1 0.5pt win

13:20 – Handicap Chase

Solo down in class for the man from Ditcheat is a selection, the price is simply too tempting when one considers the competition today, we will also back Beakstown with the jockey taking off 5lbs

Solo 7/1 2pt ew

Beakstown 9/2 1.5pt ew

13:55 – Handicap Chase

Fairnet for the in-form Venetia Williams yard is the bet of the day, by that I mean, it is a price that is so far removed from what I think it should be (in particular with the jockey taking off 7lbs), sticking with the British Champion trainer, we back Magic Saint.

Fairnet 7/1 3.5pt ew

Magic Saint 7/1 2pt ew

14:30 – Paddy Power Cotswold Chase

Chantry House, should see these all off and build upon his outing at Kempton for the King George.

No bet (see multiples)

15:05 – Cleeve Hurdle

McFabulous is 4/1 because Champ is 1/2, they are however nearly identical on my ratings, hence at the prices we will be backing the former.

McFabulous 3pt ew 4/1

15:40 – Novices’ Hurdle

All eyes will be on the favourite, Hillcrest, however the Alan King trained, North Lodge will be our play in this race. Alan has already turned a few heavily fancied favourites over this season and if Hillcrest does not continue his improvement, expect King to have North Lodge primed today.

North Lodge 4/1 1.5pt ew

16:15 – Mares Bumper

A Mares bumper which should be extremely informative, it will make sense to watch where the money is going as we get closer to the race, however Flirtatious Girl is our selection, Kim Bailey is in good form of late and the booking of David Bass ensures a positive ride.

Flirtatious Girl 11/2 2.5pt ew
