Another profitable day yesterday, that is two 20+ days profit in a row for the blog, 3 winners yesterday, 2 seconds and an each-way double that paid profit. A decent opening day at the International Meeting.
Onto today, forgive me but their will be shorter write ups today as pushed for time before I head to Cheltenham.
12:05 – Juvenile Hurdle
Lady Pacifico on ratings looks hugely overpriced, it may well run like an 18/1 shot but on ratings the last time out winning performance at Leicester should place the horse on my ticket at around 5s. Twilight Twist for Alan King is also a selection the favourite, Yorksea looks a huge threat but Gary Moore has only had 3 winners out of 111 runners at course and distance.

12:40 – Novices Chase
A race set up, as a procession for My Drogo, much like last time at HQ when he fell. If he stays up he wins, however I would not be backing him with your money at 1/4. I likely will not play in this race but Torn and Frayed for the Twiston Davies’ who were on the money yesterday would have been my selection if we could have had a few more runners for each way.
13:15 – Hadicap Chase
Editeur Du Gite looked fantastic last time at the course, winning a thriller, he was our selection then and is our selection again today, the jockey takes of 5lb making the rise in the weight manageable.

We backed the winner, Midnight Shadow last time out and he is of interest again today and we will back him, in particular after Protektorat success last week (who he beat at the November meeting). We will also back Dostal Phil and Fairnet who seem very well treated at the weights.

14:25 – Novices’ Hurdle
The favourite looks solid, having carried a stone heavier to victory at Galway, one for multiples if at all however at the prices. We will back Barony Legends who did not lack for pace when seen out at Lingfield last.

A lovely race featuring some fine horses we have seen at the course over the years, Song for Someone is the selection as he has the most solid form over course and distance, a recent second to the well fancied Buzz being a solid tune-up for this.

15:35 – Mares Handicap Hurdle
Wynn House is a selection for Mr King and Tom Cannon, very low in the weights and if the weather eases off from predictions earlier in the week, it should go on the surface, same again with Hotter than Hell for the same yard, who has won on the surface.
