Welcome to the official start of the Flat season, after a good week we skipped yesterday as I had working commitments, we continue to have done well over the last week posting around 100 points profit.
A full review of the Jumps season when Punchestown is over will be provided in the coming days and the P&L updated.
Newmarket, the Guineas, here we go.
Newmarket
13:50 – Overwrite for Mark Johnston is the selection, having ran well at Ripon and setting fractions whilst carrying heavier that should concern the rest of the field, expect him to get out and be difficult to pass. Starcat towards the top of the market is also a selection.
Overwrite 9/1 1.5PT ew
Starcat 9/2 1.5PT ew
14:25 – Garrus is the selection for Charlie Hills with the Doyler on board, if he can overcome the draw he should be well placed. Glamorous Anna is also a selection.
Garrus 2pt ew 13/2
Glamorous Anna 28/1 1pt ew
15:00 – Sir Ron Priestly wins this.
15:40 – the 2000 Guineas, we backed One Ruler antepost at 12/1 at the end of March, he is that price today, having been as short as 5/1 last week prior to Buick preferring Master of the Seas who is a selection, we will also back Poetic Flare at a bigger price.
Master of the Seas 13/2 2.5pt ew
Poetic Flare 16/1 1pt ew
16:15 – Chil Chil is the selection, having shown plenty of promise at Newmarket at the Craven meeting.
Chil Chil 7/2 2.5PT ew
16:50 – Secret Protector should have too much pace for these and the slight step up shouldn’t prove a problem.
17:25 – Crossford should be too much for these.
Multiple: Sir Ron Priestly, Secret Protector and Crossford 18/1 1.5PT ew
Goodwood
14:05 – Lilac Road and Sir Ron Priestley double 8/1 3pt ew
and treble with Secret Protector 16/1 1.5PT ew
14:35 – Fred at 15/2 and nearly over a stone lighter than when last seen is a strong selection.
Fred 15/2 2.5PT ew
15:10 – Mountain Peak has done the best out of these speed-wise over 5f and at 11/2 is a fancy.
Mountain Peak 5/1 2.5PT ew
double with Fred 50/1 1pt ew
Doncaster
18:35 – Lexington Dash 7/2 2pt ew
