Good Friday, a day of rest for racing traditionally, replaced with racing at Lingfield a few years ago for All-Weather championship day, one of my favourite days in the racing calendar.
Enjoy, the Irish National on Monday awaits…
Further, full P&L and Cheltenham Festival review over this long, Bank Holiday weekend….
Lingfield – All-Weather Championship Day
14:00 – AMITYAZ partnered by the excellent Hollie Doyle is our selection for the Marathon which opens the card. The favourite Rainbow Dreamer would have been odds-on favourite should we have had this event last year.
Our selection is trained by the red-hot in-form John and Thandy Gosden partnership (operating at a 44% strike rate for the season thus far), drawn well from stall fall expect our fancy to be tucked away and delivered in the final few furlongs and eyeball Rainbow Dreamer down the straight.
AMITYAZ 5/1 3PT EW
14:35 – INDIE ANGEL should hose up for the aforementioned Gosden father and son duo, however at 5/6 is not a price to get stuck into for blog purposes. The mercurial, FIZZY FEET is our selection, a speedy front-runner who we have been on throughout the winter, a course and distance winner for the David Loughnane yard.
FIZZY FEET 6/1 1.5pt ew
15:10 – The races continue to get shorter, as we have a 6f sprint to consider, EXALTED ANGEL for Karl Burke is the first selection, seen last time earlier this year when beating Fizzy Feet, a selection in the prior race at course and distance, we will also back Venturous and Lord Riddiford
EXALTED ANGEL 11/2 1.5PT EW
VENTUROUS 15/2 1PT EW
LORD RIDDIFORD 16/1 0.75PT EW
15:45 – This race is all about MIGHTY GURKHA, I was keen on him earlier in the week and cannot believe he is still available at 9/2, Watson & Doyle partner-up for what should be a very hot ride.
MIGHTY GURKHA 9/2 5PT EW
16:15 Forest of Dean is preferred at 2/1 than Bangkok at odds-on at the head of the market, ASSIMILATION at a bigger price is our selection for the Ed Walker yard.
ASSIMILATION 14/1 1PT EW
16:45 – Khuzaam is the standout on form at the top of the market, Intuitive ran a hot time over course and distance last time out a low drawn can be an advantage, however I would like to see the horse ran a tad more positively.
INTUITIVE 7/1 1pt EW
17:15 – HARRISON POINT stands out at the prices, down in the weights and having ran well carrying much heavier, we also back Lord of the Lodge
HARRISON POINT 16 /1 1.25PT EW
LORD OF THE LODGE 8/1 1PT EW
