Good afternoon, the P&L review is underway and on Sunday I will post the schedule up to the end of last Saturday (please note no bets this week to record as we recover from the heights of Cheltenham).
Having reviewed the first 2 days of Cheltenham, by the end of Day 2 we were 150+ points in profit.
Looking ahead at today as we have graded racing at Newbury, Musselburgh and Newcastle.
Newbury:
12:30 – nothing of interest, tiny field, odds-on fave.
13:00 – Scaramanga is too high in the weights, the favourite, Hang in There has not placed over distance in all but one of four attempts – the rock solid bet is Masters legacy at 3/1.
MASTERS LEGACY – 3/1 2pt ew
13:30 – Jersey Bean stands out, down in the weights and having performed well over longer when setting fractions that should trouble these today. The favourite, Corrany may just be carrying too much, Ocean Cove is also primed for a bug run for the Fergal O’Brien yard hence we will play this race two-handed.
Jersey Bean 15/2 1.5pt ew
Ocean Cove 6/1 1.5pt ew
14:05 – Manning Estate at the bottom of the weights, if able to repeat his form as show in October at Uttoxeter would not be a double figure play, because of that we will get involved.
Maning Estate 12/1 1pt ew
14:40 – No bet
Musselburgh
13:55 – nothing in opener
14:30- no bet
15:05 – Fisher Green is primed to run a big race, a front-runner with plenty of pace, a winner over course and distance at the beginning of the month, when carrying more weight in class 4 company, a step up in trip today will find out where this horse is, but at the price has is a great play, in a race with so many horses who hate the ground and distance.
Fisher Green 7/1 2pt ew
15:40 – Jessie Mac is the only horse in the race who has placed over distance and on the going at least 50% of his starts at 6/1 he is our selection.
Jessie Mac 6/1 2pt ew
16:10 – Millie the Minx, at the bottom of the weights, can score in this Mares Hurdle final.
Millie the Minx 4/1 3pt ew
Newcastle – no bet in the 16:40
