A good day yesterday, the Clarence House at Ascot was landed by FREE FLOW, trained by Kim Bailey, drifting to 14/1 SP and our selection.
Here’s a look at what I said:
15:35 – Clarence House Chase
Politologue may well have been the success story of 2020, victorious at the Festival before following it up in the Tingle Creek, a worthy favourite.
Defi Du Seuil, 2/5 at the off for Queen Mothers Champion Chase, the race Politologue won at the Festival, needs to bounce back, at 4/1 I could see why people may be interested, as it is now or never and it was not that long ago he performed wonders.
FIRST FLOW however is the selection, a front-running type, trained by Kim Bailey, let us hope he can get up alongside the favourite early, match strides and be in the mix at the conclusion.
FIRST FLOW 12/1 1.5PT EW
Really pleased with the selection in what was otherwise a bleak but profitable day but always nice to land the big race of the weekend, especially with the drift to 14/1 SP.
Lingfield (All-Weather)
13:40 – CARDANO, trained by Ian Williams, who at the moment is in-form, Richard Kingscote rides, both jockey and trainer have a good strike rate over Course and Distance (50% strike rate when together).
Drawn well and a front-runner, if he can get out, he should be tough to catch.
CARDANO 4/1 2PT EW – NON RUNNER
15:10 – Only 4 runners, Obtuse would be the selection if we had to, we thankfully don’t and therefore no selection in this race.
Profit & Loss update after Saturday: 42 points profit
UPDATE: As of 13:00, due to non-runners and contracting fields, I have bet the following, taking on the favourites in the 13:40 and 15:10 over at Lingfield:
13:40 – Furzig 4/1 & Mysevern 15/8
15:10 – Obtuse 7/4 & A Pint of Bear 7/1
All of the above in win only doubles – 4 points out-lay.
